Forgiving is hard!

Giving forgiveness to others is easy to say, but hard to do.  It is especially difficult in the midst of being wronged, but we are called to give forgiveness to others.  It sounds like such a tall task.  How can we do it sometimes?
First, we must realize that forgiveness does not come with allowing the person to wrong you again.  No, if they are allowed to wrong you again, then they are sinning and distancing themselves from God.  God does not want this and neither should we.  Sadly, not always can we prevent them from wronging us.
How essential is forgiveness?  After all, it is really hard sometimes.  We are called to “forgive those who trespass against” as we want God to “forgive us our trespasses.”  As Jesus said, “the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.” – [Matthew 7:2]
If we want to be forgiven for our sins and enter Heaven, we must forgive others’ sins.  All of them.  It is hard and in some cases nearly impossible for us to do, but with God’s help we can do anything.  Jesus knows how to forgive in the hardest of situations.  While being nailed to the Cross, Jesus was able to offer forgiveness.  May God’s willingness to forgive our sins inspire and strengthen us to forgive others.
