Hearing the truth is a dangerous thing. Once we hear the truth, we cannot un-hear it. After hearing the truth, we are often left with a decision: (a) change and adhere to the truth OR (b) continue to live a lie. However, this decision bears much more weight than the original decision to live the lie. Now we know the truth!
“Herod feared John, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man, and kept him in custody. When he heard him speak he was very much perplexed, yet he liked to listen to him.” – [Mark 6:20] Herod was entertained by the truth, but it did not change him.
More from the lips of Jesus:“I am the way and the truth and the life.” – [John 14:6]
“And this is the verdict, that the light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light … but whoever lives the truth comes to the light.” – [John 3:19, 21]“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” – [John 8:12]
